York Literature Festival is delighted to launch The York Festival of Hauntology

For its debut year, we present a series of events on the topic of Folk Horror & the Urban Wyrd. Over 21-22 March, authors from across the country will gather to celebrate everything they love about the Folk Horror genre; including appearances from Ramsey Campbell, Dan Coxon, Lucie McKnight Hardy, Andrew Michael Hurley and Lucy Rose.

Amy Jane Stewart is an award-winning writer of novels and short fiction, including the Northern Writers Award and the Mairtin Crawford Award. In addition to writing, Amy is completing a PhD. Amy’s first novel Hex House, published by Titan in 2026, is a feminist folk horror/fairy tale.

Please Note: This event is at Creative Centre Auditorium, York St John University, Lord Mayor’s Walk, York, YO31 7EX
