You’ll know Shappi from Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, QI, Have I Got News For You, and for bravely surviving I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! A regular favourite on BBC Radio 4’s Just a Minute and countless panel shows, Shappi is celebrated for her razor-sharp wit, infectious warmth, and brilliant storytelling.
She’ll be lighting up the York Theatre Royal stage alongside an incredible line-up of comedians: Kate Butch, Tadiwa Mahlunge and Louise Young. Expect bold jokes, big personalities, and a night packed with laughter from start to finish.
Kate Butch is an award-winning menace to society who is perhaps best known for competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Vs The World and Series 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, becoming one of its breakout stars. Elsewhere on TV, she has won Celebrity Mastermind and appeared in multiple episodes of the BBC One sitcom The Power of Parker. Her radio appearances include The Today Programme, Michael Ball, and Scott Mills, as well as co-hosting Radio 1’s Three Queens of Christmas with Tia Kofi and The Vivienne.
She is an award-winning stand-up comedian, singer and cabaret artist, enjoying sold-out Edinburgh Fringe runs of her shows Kate If You Wanna Go Butcher and Wuthering Shites, which went on a smash-hit UK tour in 2025. In 2023 she made her West End debut in Sleeping Beauty at the Harold Pinter Theatre, before returning to the West End stage in 2024’s Peter Pan. She is set to write and star in 2025’s Snow White in the West End’s Emerald Theatre. She co-hosts the podcast Queers Gone By, which The Guardian dubbed one of the world’s funniest podcasts, and is currently working on her own sitcom.
Kate has performed with drag icons Sasha Velour and Bob the Drag Queen, pop princess JADE, and even one of the Cheeky Girls. Unfortunately, she can’t remember which one.
Billed as “one of the country’s top new comedy acts” by The York Press, Tadiwa Mahlunge has performed at, among others, the Latitude, Greenman, and Greenwich Comedy Festivals, and regularly performs at Top Secret Comedy Club, The Frog and Bucket, The Comedy Store, Glee, Monkey Barrel, Just the Tonic, and now headlines for Off the Kerb, and at smaller regional clubs around the country.
Tadiwa has provided tour support for Dylan Moran, Ed Byrne, Mark Watson, Kyle Kinane, Craig Conant, Christina P, Steven Ho, Tom Houghton, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Jessica Fostekew, and TV warm-up for Desiree Burch’s Amazon Prime special.
As seen on BBC 1, BBC 2, Dave, Comedy Central, UTV, Comic Relief and heard on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Northampton and BBC Sounds – Tadiwa Mahlunge has established himself as one of comedy’s hottest prospects. As such, he featured on the 2022 Pleasance Comedy Reserve at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Half Geordie, half Turkish, Louise Young has quickly become one of the brightest new names on the comedy circuit. A regular at clubs such as The Glee, The Stand, and Komedia, Louise has supported the likes of Jason Manford, Alan Carr, Tom Davis, Angela Barnes, and Tom Allen on their nationwide tours around the UK and Ireland.
Louise debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the Pleasance Courtyard in 2023 with her show Feral – about class, chaos, and coming out. The show received rave reviews and was nominated for Best Newcomer in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and appeared at London Soho Theatre’s Best Newcomer Season in 2024. The show was also nominated for NextUp’s BIGGEST Award in Comedy, and Louise was named as “one to watch” by Rolling Stone.
Louise has also been nominated for three Leicester Comedy Festival awards: Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2020, Best Festival Appearance in 2021 and Best Debut Show in 2023. She was a finalist in the Funny Women Awards in 2018, was also nominated for a Gillard Award in 2019, and in 2020 was nominated Newcomer of the Year for presenting a weekly comedy show on BBC Radio Newcastle.
On screen, Louise has appeared on Comedy Central Live, as well as writing and acting in three sketches for Channel 4’s Original Comedy Shorts, one of which went on to receive over 5 million views. She also appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Fred at The Stand.
