York Literature Festival and the Hauntology & Spectrality Research Group have partnered to launch York’s first-ever festival of Hauntology.

Over 21-22 March, authors from across the country will gather to celebrate Folk Horror & the Urban Wyrd. Including appearances from Ramsey Campbell, Dan Coxon, Lucie McKnight Hardy, Andrew Michael Hurley and Lucy Rose, the festival is to comprise at least 8 events with more to be announced.

This £50 weekend pass gains you access to the entire weekend of events, with individual tickets for each event to go on sale with the York Literature Festival 2026 programme in January.

Please Note: This event is part of York Literature Festival

Part of York Literature Festival

Due to huge demand, and the rapid sale of the season passes, York Literature Festival have decided to move York Festival of Hauntology to a larger venue.

To make sure as many of you as possible can join them to celebrate Folk Horror and the Urban Wyrd, please note that these events will now take place at York St John University Campus on the 21 and 22 March. All season pass holders have been emailed with the new details. The Hauntology events on Sat 21 March will now take place in De Grey Lecture Theatre, and on Sun 22 March, the events will take place in the Creative Centre Auditorium.

Season pass tickets with the previous venue are valid at the new venue. Though these passes are sold out, do not worry! Single tickets for all of the author events, their prices, and event timings will be available on our website from 1pm on Fri 23 January.
