Phoenix Dance Theatre join the impressive line-up of dance at York Theatre Royal

2026 will see the return of Phoenix Dance Theatre to the York Theatre Royal Main House stage as part of the venue’s exciting programme of dance. One of the UK’s leading contemporary dance companies, Phoenix Dance Theatre, present the world premiere of Interplay (27 – 28 Feb), a powerful mixed bill showcasing work by internationally renowned choreographers.

This compelling evening of dance places creative collaboration at its core, exploring themes of duality and the fusion of distinct artistic voices.

Featuring duet and ensemble works, each piece offers a bold and dynamic interplay between contrasting perspectives, celebrating the beauty of shared vision and artistic exchange.

Phoenix Dance Theatre said, “We’re delighted to return to York Theatre Royal in Spring 2026 to premiere our brand-new mixed bill, Interplay. The programme features exciting new choreographic work by internationally renowned artists James Pett & Travis Clausen-Knight, Marcus Jarrell Willis & Yusha-Marie Sorzano, alongside restaged works by Ed Myhill (re-staged by Camille Giraudeau) and our Artistic Director, Marcus Jarrell Willis.
