Make Summer 2026 One to Remember at York Theatre Royal!
Whether you love being in the spotlight, are curious about what happens behind the scenes, or are simply looking for a fun and creative way to spend your summer, our Youth Theatre Summer Holiday Production is perfect for young people aged 8 to 19.
Join the cast of York Theatre Royal Youth Theatre Production and work alongside professional theatre-makers to co-create a show for our main stage. During the course, you’ll make new friends, build your confidence, and learn exciting skills.
York Theatre Royal Youth Theatre is celebrating its return to the Main House stage for the first time since the 2019 production of Hetty Feather. Become part of cast and crew for a lively and adventurous performance. Details of the production will be announced very soon and will be co-directed by Head of Youth Theatre, Sophie-Jade Howell and Community Connector, Lydia Crosland.
There are three courses to choose from: 8-12s (2 weeks), 11-19s (3 weeks) and Back Stage (2 weeks).
Important Information
By signing up for the Youth Theatre Production, you must be available for all dates and times and able to participate in the final performances. Please check the dates carefully before booking.
Once you have booked onto the project, there will be audition workshops in June/July 2026 to allocate roles.
