York Inspirational Kids (YIKS) is a supportive community group based in the York area, created for parents and families of children with disabilities and/or additional needs. The group provides support, friendship, inclusive activities, training sessions, and family outings designed to benefit both children and their families.
Recognising that disabled children can be among the most disadvantaged in society, YIKS aims to make their childhood as happy and fulfilling as possible. The group works to remove barriers and create opportunities, helping children access and enjoy a wide range of life experiences.
Through connection, encouragement, and inclusive events, YIKS helps families feel supported, understood, and empowered.
We have loved visiting YIKS Post-16 group to explore a multitude of themes in different ways. From crafts, character creation and more, the group brought so many ideas to life.
