York Theatre Royal take part in Big Give’s ‘Arts for Impact Campaign’

Big Give is an organisation which boosts fundraising opportunities for charity organisations by utilising a match funding model. This year, York Theatre Royal is taking part in Big Give’s Arts for Impact campaign which runs this week between Tuesday 19 and 26 March.

York Theatre Royal’s fundraising target is £5,000, but all donations made this week will be matched 1:1 if the fundraising target is met. This means that £10,000 of vital funds will be raised instead – one donation, twice the impact.

At York Theatre Royal, community is at the heart of everything. We’ve been here since 1744, welcoming and entertaining residents and visitors from far and wide and we work with thousands of people in York and beyond.

All funds raised can help York Theatre Royal use theatre to create incredible experiences for and with communities and improve wellbeing for all. Donations could fund a variety of York Theatre Royal activities and projects including, producing work for our Main Stage and Studio Theatre, the work done in partnership with many other charities to help combat loneliness, support vulnerable adults and children, and those who are marginalised and to help maintain our historic building for the people of York.

One activity which benefits from funds raised is next year’s community production. Following the huge success of the 2023 community production Sovereign, which involved 288 community volunteers taking part in all aspects of the production both on and off the stage, any funds raised could help expand the support and opportunities offered to the volunteers.
