The show must go on at the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge

We’re so excited (and also a little bit terrified) to announce that we’ll be taking part in the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge this September! Our team, The Show Must Go On, are getting ready to row their hearts out and raise lots of money for three brilliant charities; The Hut, SASH, and York Theatre Royal’s Access All Areas (8-11s).

On September 12th 2021, 33 teams will be battling it out on the River Ouse (between Scarborough Bridge and Lendal Bridge) for the Challenge Trophy and other prestigious awards. Our target is to raise £1,500 but we need your help! You can donate directly through our Virgin Money Giving page below – every penny counts.

The Hut is a small local charity that provides both short and long-term support by bringing creativity and purpose to the lives of adults with enduring mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities.

SASH (Safe and Sound Homes) provides support to young people facing homelessness in York, North and East Yorkshire. The charity offers emergency overnight or short-term accommodation.

We are so happy this year to be supporting a new York Theatre Royal community project – Access All Areas (8-11s). This all new youth theatre referral programme will remove barriers that stop young people engaging with the arts.

After the success of Access All Areas (12-16) we want to provide this opportunity for younger participants to engage with us and become part of community of young people. Access All Areas is a free programme to take part in, offering a safe and positive place each week to leave school and home life at the door, make new friends and have fun.

Thank you for your support!
