An Evening with Kyiv City Ballet: Our Sponsors

Following a sell-out performance in June 2022, we are thrilled to welcome Kyiv City Ballet back for a very special gala performance fundraiser on 30 March. Directed by Ivan Kozlov and Ekaterina Kozlova, the evening will be an unmissable night of dance including excerpts from ballets Tribute to Peace, Don Quixote, La Bayadere and Paquita. 

We have worked alongside some of the best businesses in York to provide a fun-filled, jam-packed schedule for the company’s visit to York on 28 – 30 March. Our sponsors will help us to celebrate and share the rich and amazing culture of York with Kyiv City Ballet.  

The company’s journey to York – our travel sponsors

The company have been based in Paris since the outbreak of war in Ukraine. They will begin their journey to York on 28 March as they travel to London on the Eurostar and then to York with LNER. Eurostar and LNER have kindly provided the company with their tickets to ensure a safe and easy journey. Thanks to Eurostar and LNER the company will arrive in York well-rested and ready for an exciting couple of days ahead.

York Pavilion have a couple of exciting themed nights to entertain you across spring. On 03 March they will host A Night with the Rat Pack and Legends of Swing for £39.95. There will be music from Alan Becks and you will be treated to a two course dinner.  

For a treat this spring Malmaison are offering a Prix Fixe menu in their Chez Mal restaurant. Choose from either two or three courses, sit back and soak in the gorgeousness of their restaurant whilst you tuck into a delicious meal.

During their visit, the company will also take a trip to York Minister for a tour around one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals. York Minster offer free guided tours from Monday to Saturday, 10am – 3pm. It is a unique opportunity to view the impressive stained glass windows and stonework whilst hearing stories and facts from their 800-year history.  

The company will experience the amazing tastes of York too, as Rafi’s Spice Box have sent us a range of their curry packs for our incredible chef to whip up into a wonderful curry. Thanks to Rafi’s the company will be treated to an evening of curry and good company. Rafi’s offer hand-made curry mixes tailored to your taste. We would also like to thank City Cruises who have offered incredible support for both Kyiv City Ballet’s visits to York. The community are at the heart of everything we do at our theatre and our Creative Engagement team are very pleased to be working with York City of Sanctuary, York City Church and Pilot Theatre to bring Ukranian families and our Youth Theatre together for a meet and greet and a workshop with Kyiv City Ballet. This will be a wonderful opportunity for members of the community to get involved with the company’s visit and give an extra special and personal welcome.
