Dinners on Stage – a unique event happening at York Theatre Royal next month

York Theatre Royal to raise funds to support its continuing work in the community with unique event – Dinners on Stage

Plans are underway for a very special fundraising event to support York Theatre Royal’s community engagement work. Two evenings of dinner and entertainment on the historic and beautiful York Theatre Royal stage, with some very special guests, will take place on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 March.

The theatre is delighted that actors Samuel West (All Creatures Great and Small, Slow Horses), Daniel Weyman (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), Jack Ashton (Call The Midwife, Waterloo Road), Matthew Kelly (Stars in their Eyes and most recently Noises Off), and writer and actor David Reed (Guy Fawkes and The Penny Dreadfuls) are showing their support and planning to join guests (subject to filming commitment) for one of the two evenings planned, dates to be confirmed. York Theatre Royal’s resident artists Gus Gowland, Mingyu Lin and Misha Duncan-Barry will also be in attendance to champion the work done by the theatre.

These black-tie events are being co-ordinated with the support of LW Events. A delicious menu is being prepared and served by York based company, Pastelle Kitchen & Events and guests will be welcomed to the theatre with a cocktail from sponsors York Gin. Barrique Fine Wines will be providing wine for the evening as well as offering a range of specially selected wines and champagnes that will be available to purchase.

A programme of entertainment is being planned throughout the evening, including music from composer and pianist, Vanessa Simmons.

There will be a raffle and auction during Dinners on Stage to help raise further funds to support the theatre.

York Theatre Royal works extensively in the community, through a range of year-round projects for young people including Youth Theatre and Access All Areas, working with schools, and its partnerships with other charities through the Pay If Forward ticket scheme. The theatre is nationally recognised for its engagement and participation programmes, the large-scale community productions it produces every 2 years, and it’s commitment to widening access to theatre to everyone.

Tickets for Dinners on Stage are £175 each and can be booked through the Box Office on 01904 623568 or at www.yorktheatreroyal.co.uk.
