Are you 18 – 26 years old and based in York or the surrounding area?
Are you curious, imaginative, open-minded and motivated. Do you want to develop skills in leadership, communication, critical thinking and problem solving?
Are you interested in how culture can interconnect with everyday life and want to gain real-world experience in the arts and cultural sector?
We can provide a platform, where your voice is heard.
In October 2025 York Theatre Royal is launching Futureproof – a brand new programme, designed for individuals who are interested in developing their skills and contributing to a collaborative, creative project.
Futureproof will run over three academic terms, from 06 November 2025, and participants are required to attend fortnightly sessions, usually on a Thursday 4.30pm – 6.30pm.
This is a paid opportunity, with an hourly rate of £12.21.
We encourage applications from low-income households, people from ethnically diverse communities, neurodivergent people and those with disabilities, care leavers and young carers and people not in education, employment or training. We want to hear from you if you’re from an arts or non-arts background or new to the arts and curious to learn more.
Before applying we encourage you to attend one of our upcoming Futureproof Information Sessions on either Friday 26 September 4pm – 5pm or 6pm – 7pm, or Thursday 02 October 4pm – 5pm or 6pm – 7pm.
