The Place is a welcoming venue located in the heart of the Chapelfields estate in York, dedicated to offering support, enjoyment, and respite for the residents of Westfield. With a primary focus on enhancing the lives of local children, The Place works directly with young people and in collaboration with the adults in their community. By investing in an area that has historically been underserved, The Place aims to create meaningful, lasting impact for the families who live there.
The Place hosted a Sweet Family Day for Sweet Legacies, offering a variety of activities for the whole family. The event included storytelling sessions, a drama workshop, seed sowing, a picnic, a sensory corner, and a range of games – creating a fun and engaging day for all ages.
We are also collaborating new sessions for families, including activities for children under five and adult craft workshops. These sessions aim to engage all family members in celebrating and exploring the local Sweet Heritage together.
