The Last Battles of Fionn MacCumhaill
The Crick Crack Club presents
Performance storytelling by Ben Haggarty and Steph Brittain
A fatherless son
A daughter’s lament
A pig stolen from its spit
Fires burning out at sea
And a dream
On the westernmost tip of Ireland, a beach of crystal white sand once ran crimson with the blood of a never-ending magical battle — the last battle fought by the epic hero, Fionn MacCumhaill.
Step into a maelstrom of myth, as storytellers Ben Haggarty and Steph Brittain pick through fragments of medieval manuscript, story and song, to piece together a story of love, loss and destiny – a Celtic Iliad.
Raw, lyrical, and unforgettable. This is not just a wild myth retold. It’s an exploration of what it means to live, to regret, to sacrifice, and to endure in a relentless world.
