Former trustee and Life Member of the Bronte Society, Catherine Rayner, has written a series of books about the Bronte family. In her talk, ‘The Monstrous in the Ordinary’, she examines the influence of genetics and environment on the development of the Bronte siblings. By highlighting their ancestry and the extraordinary times and area in which they lived, Catherine will show some of the factors that formed their remarkable imaginations and writing abilities.
