TASTE OF SLAP FESTIVAL
Blood, sweat, and chia seeds.
Messy Eaters is a quirky, rhyming response to the silly sides of food: from Waitrose Turkeys, to diet culture.
Everyone’s making a mess. Newlyweds Charles and Mabel spend Christmas with the in-laws, God, and a deadly secret. Shirley and Kevin reach boiling point, whilst stressed student Emma gains a keen tea guest who forgets his table manners. Meanwhile, Ryan just doesn’t understand how girlfriend Abby likes her eggs in the morning.
With five interlinking short plays on the menu, Messy Eaters is jam packed with current, juicy chaos.
This event is part of Taste of SLAP a day of performance at York Theatre Royal. For more information, click here.
York’s pay what you can performance festival SLAP is back with a tasty assortment of theatre and performance from award winning artists.
Taste of SLAP is an alternative Valentine’s Day treat, with an entire day and evening of bite sized performances. Expect cabaret, theatre, dinner dating, tea drinking, canapé art and more in-between.
With the likes of the acclaimed Levantes Dance Theatre, ZU-UK and DRYHUMP alongside local and regional artists; Taste of SLAP is the feast of the year and not one to be missed.
We are committed to making all of our events as accessible and affordable as possible. We have decided that having a range of ticket prices is the best way to allow everyone to be able to purchase a ticket within their financial reach whilst also ensuring that we are able to continue running events.
We ask everyone to be honest about their financial situation. If you purchase a ticket at the lowest price point when you could afford a higher ticket price, it makes it harder for SLAP to provide financial flexibility to those who most need it.
Our ticket brackets are £3, £6, £9 and £12, choose the amount you would like to pay.
We will never ask you to prove your financial situation just pick the amount that feels best for you.
Have a listen to Co-Director of SLAP, Lydia Cottrell and writer of Messy Eaters Aisling Lally on our podcast Adlib and hear what you can expect from this year’s festival!
