Autumn Season Launch
Join us for a special evening as we unveil our jam-packed new season. Meet some of the artists and creatives involved in our upcoming productions, and find out what we’re planning as we continue to celebrate our 275th Anniversary this year! Here’s a snapshot of what you’ve got to look forward to during the evening:
To kick things off, our actor-musicians from Swallows & Amazons will be performing songs from the show in our foyer.
Following this in the Main House, Hattie Naylor and Alastair Whatley (Adaptor and Director of The Night Watch) will be discussing how they’ll be bringing Sarah Water’s gripping novel to the stage.
York Theatre Royal Associate Director Juliet Forster will introduce her production of Arthur Miller’s Tony Award-winning timeless play, A View From the Bridge.
Our Artistic Associate, John R. Wilkinson, will be presenting his vision for his production of Hello & Goodbye.
Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director, Sharon Watson, will be giving some insight into the exciting double bill of contemporary dance she’ll be bringing to York in October.
Our TakeOver Festival team will be introducing what plans they have in store to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our award-winning festival run by young people.
And to end the evening…York-based theatre-maker Matt Aston is co-directing this year’s pantomime Sleeping Beauty as well as writing and directing our Christmas Studio production of The Storm Whale. Find out what his plans are for these two highly anticipated productions.
Plus some extra tasty treats and surprises!
