Marie: The Story Of Marie Lloyd

The poet, T.S. Eliot, described Marie Lloyd as: “The greatest music hall artist of all time.”

Marie Lloyd was the first, great, female 'stand-up' comedian, and she lives again in this celebrated show, which features all her famous songs: Don't Dilly Dally on the Way, Oh! Mr Porter, A Little of What you Fancy does you Good and The Boy I Love is Up in the Gallery.

Marie captures all the riotous fun and irrepressible talent, as well as the pain and anguish, of a truly remarkable woman.

Elizabeth Mansfield received an Olivier Award nomination as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance of this show, at The Fortune Theatre, in London’s West End, along with rave reviews.

"A full dramatic evening marvellously interwoven with song." - The Guardian

"Tenderness and fun, style and verve... and oh what songs!" - Financial Times

"Mansfield is brilliant... Uproarious laughter, often tears... a celebration heart-warming in its humanity." - Sunday Telegraph

All proceeds of ticket sales from this performance will make a vital contribution to our ongoing work with people in our community.
