Come along and hear poems performed by Carole Bromley from her new collection, Blast Off! and then try your hand at writing a poem or two of your own from fun exercises and with Carole’s expert guidance. Anneliese Emmans Dean's Flying High! is a bird book with a difference: it rhymes! This unique guide to British birds is a colourful cocktail of entertaining poems, solid science and fabulous photos.

Winner of many prizes, including The Bridport Prize, Carole Bromley is an experienced teacher and workshop leader. She is an Arvon tutor and runs poetry surgeries for The Poetry Society at York Explore. In 2016 she won the inaugral York Cultural Award for Excellence in Writing.

Anneliese Emmans Dean is an award-winning York poet and performer, passionate about inspiring learning through laughter, rhythm and rhyme. Anneliese won the 2017 York Culture Award for Excellence in Writing for her book Flying High! Discover the Poetry in British Birds. Ideal for ages 7-12.
