We are always looking for ways to meaningfully engage with and develop the skills of young people and emerging artists through work placements.

All opportunities are advertised on the Working Here page of our website.

Due to the high number of requests we receive for work experience placements we are unable to respond to speculative requests.

To find out more about the different careers in theatre and the ways in which you can get experience, head to the Get Into Theatre website for a comprehensive list of opportunities, training and more information.

The deadline for expressions of interest for work experience with York Theatre Royal for the academic year 2023/2024 has now passed and we are unable to take on any more placements at this stage.

Work experience at York Theatre Royal has been an astounding experience for me. I have enjoyed hearing the story of the Grey Lady, seeing a dress rehearsal, going to cistume hire, being an usher, interviewing an actor and going backstage! Thanks for everything!
