Studio Talk - Narrative and Children

York Theatre Royal and York St John University present a series of engaging talks and discussions with leading artists and thinkers.

Engaging with theatre, education and psychology, this studio talk, with a mix of artists and academics, will seek to dig a little deeper into the role and nature of narrative in the lives of children.

Speakers

Ben Haggarty is a world-class performance storyteller, who performs to adults and children nationally and internationally.

Wendy Harris is Artistic Director of tutti frutti productions, a highly acclaimed children’s theatre company who make meaningful, imaginative, story-based theatre largely for the 3-7 age group.

Silvia Gennari is a lecturer in Psychology at the University of York where she is an expert on the psychology of language.

Matthew Reason is a reader in Theatre at York St John University, he has published a book on theatre and children titled The Young Audience.
