The set for this thought-provoking and moving production of Souvenir D’Anne Frank is simply a bare patch on the stage, encircled by earth and rubble which is dotted with white roses
A young Japanese girl journeys into a magical landscape of dreams and memories in the premiere tour of this original work which celebrates the life of Anne Frank, and the story of the beautiful Souvenir D’Anne Frank rose.
The live music of a piano trio, woven with song and words drawn from Anne’s extraordinary diary, bring East and West together in a haunting theatrical fusion that will both move and inspire.

On Friday 30 Mar there will be a Panel Discussion after the performance.
Members of the panel will include Cllr Sonja Crisp, Chief Exec of York City Council; Lilian Black, Chair of the Holocaust Survivors Friendship Association, Leeds and Denise Bowgett alongside the director of the show and the creative team. This is a unique opportunity to discuss the themes the show raises.
'Painting Lifelines', will be practical, participant-led, one-day workshops, offering 'Souvenir d’Anne Frank' source material as a touchstone for participants’ own creative responses. Richard Aylwin (visual artist) and Elizabeth Mansfield (writer and performer) from Ensemble’s creative team will deliver the workshops, and our collaborative process will include advocacy and mentoring, led by a member of the Anne Frank Trust UK Education Team.
A 'Souvenir D'Anne Frank' rose will be planted in York, as part of the project.
Workshop cost: £250
