Become a Founding Patron

York Theatre Royal is one of the UK’s leading producing theatres. We have achieved some incredible things recently; last year’s acclaimed co-production of The York Mystery Plays, awards and accolades for our work with young people, and a host of new plays including last year’s The Guinea Pig Club and our annual pantomime.

Together with our partners we work to ensure that the community of York is culturally richer, has access to innovative and exciting storytelling and works together to create great theatre. We couldn’t continue to do this without the support and encouragement of our audience.

The funding landscape is changing and as a registered charity the Theatre is very pleased to work with individuals, businesses and others who want to support our work. One way in which some of our audience have extended their support is by becoming a Founding Patron. This scheme offers a unique opportunity to invest in the Theatre’s future and our ambitious plans for the years ahead.

We invite you to be a part of our plans by becoming a Founding Patron. A £250 gift from you will help us to make our plans a reality. In 2013 your generosity will go even further as we are able to match gifts through our Arts Council England Catalyst grant.

In return you will see the difference your gift has had through invitations to exclusive events and regular communication. Most recently our Founding Patrons met iShandy writer Richard Hurford, its director Damian Cruden, and the cast, for a post-show backstage tour and discussion about the play and its development.
