With a delicious locally sourced range of produce at affordable prices, the Café Bar blends good food with a friendly atmosphere just off the beaten track. Within a stones throw of the Minster you can enjoy deli salads, gourmet sandwiches, hot quiches or a freshly baked treat whether you’re looking for a quick snack, lunch or supper.

Pre-Theatre Supper Deal

A two course meal and drink offer is available between the hours of 5pm - 6.30pm for just £8 per head.
Choose from:

• Quiche meal with a deli salad & a choice of bread
• Sausage & mash
• Veg or meat lasagne with a choice of jacket potato or bread
• Jacket potato with veg or meat chilli
• Followed by a choice of cake from the counter and a choice of tea/herbal tea/coffee/apple or orange juice

Breakfast Menu

9am – 12 noon

Choose between hot bacon, sausage and fried egg sandwiches with some of the most delicious coffee in York.
NEW! Full English Breakfast available until 12pm

Takeaway Service

Available on all sandwiches, breakfast rolls, cakes, soups and hot drinks.

Family Friendly

We have a kids corner, a buggy park, a baby changing area and can do smaller portions on many of our meals for smaller appetites.

The café proudly supports local companies, and works in collaboration with Henshelwoods Deli, Ye Olde Pie and Sausage Shoppe, York Coffee Emporium and Howard's Bakery.

Both Students and Members of York Theatre Royal enjoy a 10% discount.
