York Round Table £10,000 donation to Brunswick Nursery

York Round Table continued their annual fundraising event this year, as York Theatre Royal made tickets available for sale to the final dress rehearsal of this season’s pantomime, The York Family Robinson. The evening helped to raise over £10,000 which Round Table will be donating to Brunswick Organic Nursery and Craft Shop in order to raise money for a new mini bus.

York Ebor & County 65 Round Table is a Registered Charity who, in addition to the pantomime event, host other smaller fundraisers throughout the year to support community projects. This year the organisation has been focussing on raising money for Brunswick Nursery, which offers purposeful work and training to people with learning disabilities. It provides the workers with an environment to improve their skills and confidence for use both within the project and beyond.

Thomas Feeney, Press & Media Manager at York Theatre Royal said, “This charity event has been happening at York Theatre Royal for over 30 years and we’re incredibly proud of our involvement. Berwick Kaler’s famous pantomimes always give York some festive spirit and in helping Round Table support such a fantastic cause as Brunswick Nursery, we hope we can extend that spirit out beyond The York Family Robinson!”

The Brunswick shop, on Appleton Road, Bishopthorpe, sells all the produce made and grown at the Nursery. This includes a range of knitted products, greetings cards, wrapping paper, seasonal fruit and vegetables, wood work and potted plants.
