With only 20 days to go until the premiere of the York Mystery Plays 2012, construction of the set is well under way. In spite of the current weather conditions, the roof has now been secured, guaranteeing that all audience members remain covered and dry throughout each performance.
The stage will be built 2.5 metres above the ground, and have more than a dozen trapdoors to provide entries and exits for the cast of hundreds, and actors will also enter along tunnels through the stands and from behind the ruins.
