Free Theatre Tickets for Under 26s
York Theatre Royal will be giving away Free Theatre Tickets to under
26 year olds from February 2009 as part of the Arts Council national
scheme ‘A Night Less Ordinary’. This means that there will be tickets
available for loads of shows at York Theatre Royal that can be claimed
by young people on a first come first served basis!
How it all works...
- You need to sign up to get a Free York Theatre Royal Pass by filling
in either the downloadable form or form in our foyer and handing it
in to our box office.
- We will post you a nice yellow Free Theatre Pass with your name on
it
- Check on our website how many free tickets are available for upcoming
shows at www.yorktheatreroyal.co.uk or ask at the Box Office.
- Ring the Box Office to book yourself a ticket 01904 623568 and collect
it later or come in person and get your ticket there and then. You
can’t book a free ticket online!
- You can reserve tickets for your friends*
- You can collect tickets anytime from the Box Office (open Mon - Sat
10am – 8pm or 6pm if there is not a show on). Tickets are subject to
availability as obviously some shows are busier than others. You just
have to show your Free Theatre Pass either when booking or collecting
tickets.
- Please collect reserved tickets at least half an hour before the
performance. If it’s a sold out show and you haven’t collected your
ticket we may need to re-use it.
- We will also send you information about special events linked to
the Free Theatre scheme, such as meet the cast events, workshops and
special performances. Watch this space…
- Don’t forget York Theatre Royal does £5 tickets for under 25s anyway
so if the free ticket allocation gets used up for a particular show,
it’s still cheap to come!
- Finally we advise you try new stuff and enjoy fab theatre for no
money at all!
* Up to 6 tickets can be reserved by one person for any one event. Individuals
must show their own Free Theatre Pass when collecting tickets. A Night
Less Ordinary is an Arts Council England scheme in association with Metro,
which will provide 618,000 free theatre tickets to anyone under 26 in more
than 200 venues across England, between February 2009 and March 2011.
