************************* Are you aged between 9 and 12 years old and less than 5’0” (1.5m) tall, then why not audition for a part in a rather special Christmas Pantomime at York Theatre Royal? We are looking for talented young people to appear in our pantomime, Cinderella alongside Berwick, Martin, who will be celebrating his 21st pantomime, Suzy and David. Some acting experience would be useful and you must enjoy dancing and singing. Rehearsals will take place during the three weeks beginning 20 November, mostly evenings and weekends. There will be two teams of young people who will alternate performances. There are 67 performances between Wednesday 14th December 2006 and Saturday 3rd February 2006. There will be some midweek matinee performances during term time. There will be no performances on 24, 25, 31 December and on all Sundays during the run. If you would like to join the cast and feel that you and your family can make the commitment required for the pantomime, do come along and audition. Auditions will take place at the De Grey Rooms next to York Theatre Royal on Saturday 9th September 2006. Surnames A – J Arrive 2.30pm Audition 3.00pm to 4.15pm Surnames K – Z Arrive 4.15pm Audition 4.45pm to 6.00pm Please note: You will need to bring a passport sized photograph , wear clothes you can run and roll about in and soft shoes (trainers, plimsolls or dance shoes) and finally bring a drink (non-fizzy). During the audition you will be asked to dance and sing in a group, and you may be asked to sight read from a script, but no preparation is required. There is no need to contact the Theatre about the auditions in advance – just turn up on the day. York Theatre Royal staff will be at the auditions to answer any queries you may have.
