The York Theatre Royal Open Day will take place on Saturday 22nd July from 11am-4pm. The day, which is to be opened by, pantomime favourite Martin Barrass, is designed to give people the opportunity to see the complete diversity of creative activities that take place within the Theatre. Throughout the day people will be given the chance to - · Tour around the Theatre · Meet the staff and find out who does what behind the scenes · Try on costumes featured in some of York Theatre Royal’s memorable productions · Perform a speech on the stage · Watch demonstrations of lighting and sound · See the Youth Theatre rehearsing for a performance · Take part in workshops throughout the day ………even have the chance to appear on the front cover of York Theatre Royal’s next brochure. York Theatre Royal has been producing great drama in the city of York for over 250 years.
