Leading Lady Toni Feetenby takes a back seat this time, as she is expecting a baby in August, Bethan Jones will be stepping in to play the lead part of Laurey with John Haigh as dashing cowboy Curly, Sam Coulson as the young and love-struck Will Parker and Anna Mitchelson playing Ado Annie. York Musical Theatre Company have been recruiting new young ‘cowboys’ to join the show, including a few new members from York Theatre Royal’s Youth Theatre, after their success earlier this year with Franz Kafka’s The Trial. Company director and musical director Paul Laidlaw is very excited about the production although as choreographer and musical director, he certainly has his work cut out with the big show-stopping numbers in the show.
