Live music and dance tell the story of Edwardian schoolgirl Maia’s Amazonian adventure. Orphaned when her parents are killed in a train crash, Maia dreams of a new life. A new and mysterious governess arrives with tickets for a transatlantic voyage and Maia is sure her dreams are being answered. But her new family plot her downfall, the friends she makes are either trying to escape or are being hunted by detectives and her governess is searching for the explorer she loves who is missing in the jungle. Funny and moving, thrilling and memorable, this is, in Eva Ibbotson’s words, ‘a story of children leading big lives.’
